Mr. Thomas practices law in the Intellectual Property Section of the firm. He concentrates on representation related to patent prosecution, trademark registration and opposition, copyright licensing and litigation, domain-name dispute resolution, trade secrets, and other intellectual property matters.
Mr. Thomas is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and trademark office. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Eastern District of Texas, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court. Mr. Thomas' writings include "An Infinite Key Encryption System," Dr. Dobbs Journal, August 1984 (co-author); "Who Owns the Invention?" Texas Bar Journal, November, 1999; "When Should We Decline Representation? The Patent Prosecutor's Tightrope Walk," Dallas/Fort Worth Intellectual Property Association 2002 Ethics Meeting; and “Proprietary Rights in Technology and Information,” 2007 Cumulative Supplement to E-Health Business and Transactional Law, ABA Health Law Section.
