Charles M. Brackett is a Martindale-Hubbell AV-rated attorney who joined Glast, Phillips & Murray in August 2003 after being with the Kleberg Law Firm since 1998. He has spent the past 20 years practicing maritime and energy law.

Mr. Brackett's practice emphasizes the maritime and energy industries. He has represented ship owners, stevedores, offshore drilling companies, and tug and barge owners in all types of maritime torts, seamen injuries, cargo claims, property damage, and pollution damage. Mr. Brackett has represented energy companies and their carriers, both primary and excess, in offshore and land drilling operations including well control, property damage, and personal injuries. He has represented clients in United States Coast Guard, OSHA, Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act and Texas Workers' Compensation cases. He also has significant experience in cases involving premises liability, products liability, trucking, automobile and railroad accidents, breach of contract, deceptive trade practices and dram shop liability. He also has extensive experience in toxic torts, defending cases involving asbestos, mold and silicosis.

His prior professional experience includes in-house attorney with Sohio Petroleum and in-house attorney for Global Marine Drilling Co.

Mr. Brackett has received the American Jurisprudence Award of Torts. He was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 1978. He is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court, Southern and Eastern Districts of Texas and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit.

He is married to Nena Brackett, a stockbroker at UBS. Paine Webber. He enjoys sports and traveling.
