Mr. Brown counsels clients on all facets of civil litigation in state and federal court, with an emphasis on commercial litigation. He has represented businesses from a wide range of industries, including oil and gas, real estate, banking and emerging technology companies. His courtroom, arbitration and mediation experience includes representing both plaintiff and defense in cases involving breaches of contract and warranty, commercial fraud, negligent misrepresentation, tortious interference, suits for specific performance of real estate contracts, and securitized mortgage loans.

Mr. Brown is a native of Dallas and graduated from the St. Mark’s School of Texas in 1990. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin and his law degree from the University of Houston Law Center. While in law school, Mr. Brown was elected to the Houston Journal of International Law and clerked for the Honorable Harvey G. Brown, Judge for the 152nd District Court in Harris County.

      Representative engagements include:

      Caprock Investment Corp. v. Montgomery First Corp., No. 11-04-00097-CV, 2005 Tex. App. LEXIS 9659 (Eastland Nov. 23, 2005), pet. denied.; successfully overturned the trial court on appeal in action involving suit to quiet title.

      Counseled major international building materials company as manufacturer in defense of products defect case arising out of issues with brick cladding system on office building in Houston. Obtained favorable settlement for client prior to trial.

      Represented plaintiff securitized mortgage loan servicer in fraud action against mortgage lender involving amount in controversy in excess of $18,000,000, months of depositions and numerous experts. Obtained favorable settlement for client on eve of trial.

      Successfully defended lawsuits brought by joint venturers against managing venturer in oil and gas exploration cases alleging misrepresentation, breach of fiduciary duty, fraud securities laws violations and other business torts.
