Mr. Bryant joined Glast, Phillips & Murray on October 1, 1998 after a distinguished career in public service. He practice focuses on representing clients in international and domestic matters abroad and in Texas and Washington, D.C., including civil and criminal litigation.

Mr. Bryant entered private law practice in 1974, after serving as Chief Counsel to the Texas Senate Committee on Consumer Affairs. While a practicing attorney, he also served in the Texas Legislature and was subsequently elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1983. He served seven terms in the U.S. Congress, representing the Dallas area and ten North and Central Texas counties. In 1997, he was appointed by President Clinton to serve as U.S. Ambassador heading U.S. treaty negotiations for telecommunications frequency allocations at the International Telecommunications Union and World Radiocommunications Conference in Geneva.

While serving in Congress, Mr. Bryant was a member of the Committee on Judiciary and its Subcommittee on Courts and Intellectual Property, Subcommittee on International Law and Immigration, Subcommittee on Crime, and the Subcommittee on Administrative Law, of which he was Chairman. He served as lead prosecutor in the successful impeachment trial before the U.S. Senate of a sitting federal judge, and authored numerous laws, including the revised federal Independent Counsel statute and legislation in virtually every area of jurisprudence, commerce, and government operations. His amendments to the Immigration Act created the U.S. Commission on Migration and Economic Development, on which he served from 1987 to 1990.

He also served on the Budget Committee, and on the Committee on Commerce and its Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations, Subcommittee on Telecommunications and Finance, Subcommittee on Health and Environment, and Subcommittee on Energy and Power. Internationally, Mr. Bryant served as a U.S.-Helsinki Commission observer of the first post-communist era elections in East Germany and has twice led delegations to Cuba, once to achieve the release of political prisoners.

Mr. Bryant speaks Spanish and is Chairman of the World Affairs Council of Greater Dallas.
