Mr. Cousins was born in Roswell, New Mexico on January 28, 1945, and graduated from Vanderbilt University in 1967 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He received his J.D. from Southern Methodist University in 1970. Mr. Cousins is certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Civil Trial Law. He is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, American Bar Association, and the Dallas Bar Association. Mr. Cousins is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the Court of Appeals for the Fifth and Seventh Circuits, and the United States District Courts for the Northern, Western, Eastern, and Southern Districts of Texas. He is a Life Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation. Mr. Cousins' practice is in litigation and dispute resolution. He has experience in every federal district court in Texas and many state courts. He has had significant experience in commercial, real estate, and securities litigation.
