RON R. CRESSWELL
Mr. Cresswell is Board Certified in Estate Planning and Probate Law, Texas Board of Legal Specialization. In addition, he is a Fellow in the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. He has also been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America, 2003-2018; Texas Super Lawyers, Texas Monthly, 2003-2018, The Best Lawyers in Dallas, D Magazine, 2013-2017. Mr. Cresswell is also qualified by the State Bar of Texas to serve as an Attorney Ad Litem in probate and guardianship cases.
Mr. Cresswell’s practice focuses on drafting simple to very complex wills and trusts; elder law matters including powers of attorney and other alternatives to guardianship, guardianship cases, Medicaid law and special needs trusts; judicial modification of irrevocable trusts; alternatives to judici8al modification of trusts including decanting and merger of trusts; formation of entities including limited liability companies and limited partnerships; marital agreements including pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements and agreements to define separate versus community property; representation of corporate and individual executors, trustees and guardians in connection with the administration of estates for the benefit of decedent’s heirs and guardianship wards; non-judicial resolution of family disputes via family settlement agreements and mediation agreements; and preparation of federal estate and gift tax returns including resolution of audits by the Internal Revenue Service of federal estate and gift tax returns.

Mr. Cresswell is a frequent speaker on a number of subjects related to estate planning, probate, and elder law including special needs trusts at conferences sponsored by the State Bar of Texas and the University of Texas at Austin. Mr. Cresswell is a co-author of a four volume publication entitled “Texas Practice Guide – Wills, Trusts and Estate Planning” (West Law/Thompson Reuters, Publisher).
